ABOUT
Our Mission
To serve the needs of underserved and impoverished youth and their parents. Every child needs at least one adult to support them in life. While I had both my parents, I realize that there are many single parents rearing their children all by themselves. We want to help fill in the "parenting" gap. However, for every youth we serve, a parent will have to sign a commitment agreement to be a participant alongside his/her child. It still takes a village, and the parents must continue to be the primary members of the village.
My goal is to serve the nation. However, I believe in taking care of home first. We will continue our initial efforts where I currently reside in Birmingham, AL,
and my hometown of Cuthbert, GA.
Our History
Since 2013, Frances B. Brown has been giving out of her own pockets to help other children. Her heart was touched when she saw other mothers sacrificing themselves, their time, and resources to make up for the absent parents. In 2020, she held her first Juneteenth event in her hometown to give African-Americans an opportunity to see that connectivity still exists within their culture. She uses a percentage of the proceed to fund her work with youth.

OFFERINGS AND EVENTS
Education
Providing educational programming for kids during summer break and after school. This includes one-on-one tutoring and group homework help. Prior to programming, the learning style of each participant will be determined; the youth will also be trained on how to study.
Mentoring
Offering individual mentoring and group support systems. The mentoring includes character-building and personality assessments.
Nutritious Meals
During the afterschool and summer programming, the youth will be served nutritious meals. Parents will be encouraged to participate in healthy cooking classes.
S.T.E.A.M.
Each of the youth participants must choose a S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) pathway. The participant and his/her parent will be given a plan to study for the pathway that will include age-appropriate career exploration, job shadowing, journaling, etc.
School Supplies
It goes without saying that one of the greatest struggles of single parents is providing financially for their children. FBBS will provide school supplies and other necessities for not only the participants but also for other youth in the community.
Parent Academy
Parental support is a must for the success of all things children. FBBS will start its own parent academy patterned after a well-established academy here in the state of Georgia.
